Doesn't Have To Make Sense
Don't know if you can see the picture clearly but that was what I drew on a piece of cardboard today.
I was just doodling and it happened.
Then at the back of the card, I wrote
"It doesn't have to make sense, it just has to be"
Now that I think of it, some if not most of the occurrences that happen are like that.
They don't make literal sense but they happen.
I was watching myself today.
What I mean is, I watched a video recording of myself from last week.
Was just a random video of me talking to no one in particular.
I noticed one thing in the three videos (yes!...they were three...) was that I made sense of what I talked about.
I just blabbed about past experiences, friendships and the 61 day challenge.
I realized that what Steve said was true.
(By the way, Steve is the guy on the CEO podcast I referred to...if I didn't, sorry about that...at least you know who Steve is).
Steve said on his podcast that the more you vocalize your feelings and experiences, the more you analyze and make sense of them.
I have gotten very vocal in the last six months since I turned 20.
By vocal, I mean talking out loud to explain concepts or explore emotions...even if no one is listening.
In communication media, I have grown to like calls and voicenotes more than text.
I wasn't always like that though.
Growing up, I was the opposite of vocal.
The world was always too loud then and I would just sit still and escape the noise by traveling to the story in my book.
Believe me when I say a book can take you places.
I would be so engaged in the story that time would fly and someone would have to tap me, interrupting my trip.
Maybe that's how I came to like writing.
Because I wanted to write stories that would take me places.
I still love fiction...wrote a couple of stories and I have two novel drafts in hibernation.
But now, I'm learning a different kind of writing. The kind that can make me rich.
Copywriting.
I'm still learning.
Another thing I notice is that I do things slower than most people. Maybe it's just me thinking that they do those things faster.
Like writing copy, for instance.
Don't know how long it takes to write winning copy but judging by what I've watched in tutorials or seen in comments, it seems an hour is how long it takes.
Again, it may just be me.
For me to write a good piece of copy...okay let me just say, the best copy I wrote (in my opinion) took days.
And I put it up for review and people said it was good, only for them to point out a flaw I didn't notice.
I guess that's why feedback is great. Opportunity to improve.
Well, will just keep trying and learning and growing every day.
That's the goal, right?
To be a better version of yourself.
Keep at it, my friend.
We'll get there.
That's it on my thinking out loud session.
I was literally typing and thinking.
Won't make any edits...I'll just leave it to be.
It doesn't have to make sense.
